RECENT SILVER VIEW RESTORATION PROGRESS

Progress this past winter of 2025-26 has been slow,  especially due to the horrible weather. Cold temperatures and frequent snow are the major problems that can't be controlled. As Spring has started, SILVER VIEW will become a mild place to continue restoration much faster.

We at the SILVER VIEW restoration site are attending to the multiple projects as soon as time and good weather permits. Patience is a quality that needs to be adhered to.  Our vision and quality to work remain high.

Mike Abernethy lobbied for removal because they detracted from the beauty of the rear-end design. A metal collapsible/removable set of steps has replaced the ugly steps  which are visible to the left of SILVER VIEW, and will be used when maintenance access is needed. All future passengers will use the front vestibule doors/steps which was the practice ever since SILVER VIEW entered service in 1947.
