RAILCARS FOR CURRENT SERVICE

Zephyr Route intends to operate future journeys with authentic former Burlington Route cars which were part of its Zephyr trains. While these cars are being refurbished, Zephyr Route has selected some of the best refurbished cars for current journeys:

                                               MOHAVE

Mohave has deep cushioned lounge chairs, traditional dining car tables for four, a modified galley/bar, and a handicapped accessible restroom. It is Amtrak certified. The Budd Company built Mohave for the Santa Fe Railway.

        GOLDEN SAND   AND   GOLDEN SHORE

Golden Sand and Golden Shore currently have traditional coach class style seats in pairs, plus legrests. There is a buffet bar. A handicapped accessible restroom is available. These cars are Amtrak certified. The Budd Company built these cars for Southern Pacific Railroad.

                             SILVER QUAIL

For longer, overnight travel, Silver Quail has been built to be an en route hotel on wheels. It has eleven double rooms with upper and lower beds during the nighttime. Beds are folded away to create sofa seats for daytime use. Each room has a sink and toilet room.  A shower is available, and will be used on a scheduled basis. The Budd Company built Silver Quail for the Burlington Route to be used on the famed California Zephyr.
